The Jungians: A comparative and historical perspective. - This book traces the history of analytical psychology from its origins in 1912 with Jung in Zurich until the present time. It is an account of the growth of analytical psychology as a profession, with its institutions, regulations, processes, and splits. It is also, within limits, an internationally oriented book in which the facts of the development of analytical psychology are connected to the cultural specifics within each country. The first two-thirds of the book trace the development and history of analytical psychology in each country where it has become established; the largest and most developed Jungian centers are discussed first, and the locations where later developments have occurred followed. A separate chapter is devoted to the history of Analytical Psychology Clubs, and another chapter focuses on the formation and history of the International Association for Analytical Psychology.
